Module Description

This module will allow students to work within a team to carry out detailed planning in advance of events, effectively publicise events and draw up written procedures, risk assessments and contingency plans. The students will organise travel arrangements and prepare relevant travel documentation. Students will develop transferable skills such as interpersonal and self-management (for example: working with others; identifying and proposing solutions to problems, managing time; being assertive; and organising information). Effective oral and written communication skills will also be developed.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students will be able to

1. Understand the administrative procedures required to plan, organise and administer business events

2. Estimate and monitor the costs of the human and physical resources required to arrange business travel

3. Understand the different forms of communication used in organising travel and events

4. Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety legislation in relation to the organisation of business travel or events
