Introduction

This module requires you to explore some theoretical explanations and principles of learning which have impacted on the practice of teachers. This should provide some insight into how and why particular teaching and learning strategies have developed in formal education and training. It is hoped that you will be able to relate some of these theories and principles to your own practice and planning as well as making judgements about their value. In addition, various aspects and forms of communication in teaching and learning are examined, again linked to some key principles which underpin effective practice.
